I've since put a new (OEM) control board in and an off-brand compatible wash motor that cost 1/3 as much and had 2-day prime shipping, and it's been good for the last year and a half. It killed the second wash motor (an OEM whirlpool part that I paid a lot and waited for) in about 9 months. The dishwasher is on the naughty list because a failing control board (with no fault codes) killed two circ pump motors. This caused the fridge to warm up (by a lot) while the freezer stayed cold and eventually froze up the evaporator. The fridge has been pretty flawless up until a few months ago when the damper actuator failed. I also have an LG top load washer and dryer. I have a mix of Electrolux (Frigidaire french door/bottom freezer fridge, gas range and microwave) and Whirlpool (Kitchenaid dishwasher) appliances that are all about a decade old. Inflation has shifted things a bit but, due to expense, most folks are more likely to replace a standard residential machine than repair it if there's a sealed system component failure, even if the parts are all available. A built in unit (SubZero) will typically last much longer, but you pay for it on the front end instead of the back end. Service support with parts availability on a built-in unit will be much longer than most standard residential refrigerators, but nothing is going to last forever without service, and whether by planned obsolescence or randomness, part discontinuation does happen.
